While laser hair removal is a safe and viable option for breastfeeding mothers, they may want to start or delay their laser treatments until they’re finished nursing.
And if that’s the case, other hair-removal methods may be considered in the interim. These temporary options include:
- Shaving: Using a fresh razor and a gentle approach can eliminate the unwanted hair in the area for a few days before the process needs to be repeated.
- Waxing: A longer-lasting approach than shaving, but discomfort is more of a factor here. Plus, you’ll need monthly appointments – if not more frequent – to remain hair-free.
- Trimming: While there’s little risk of any discomfort, it’s not the most efficient method of hair removal, and you’ll need to repeat the process every few days.
