The fact that it’s temporary is only one of a few cons associated with waxing your legs. While you can enjoy smooth skin longer than shaving allows, the unfortunate reality is you need to be mindful of a few other factors. They include:
- Pain: Applying hot wax to your legs, adding a strip, letting the wax dry, and then ripping it away is a painful process. And it’s one you will need to repeat a few short weeks later. Ouch!
- Redness and Irritation: The aftermath of ripping hairs from the skin can, for some, lead to redness, sensitivity, and irritation following a leg waxing.
- Temporary bumps: For some clients – especially those who have been introduced to waxing – mild red bumps can appear on the skin for a short time after an appointment.
- Infected hair follicles: Folliculitis – a condition in which the follicles become inflamed or infected – is a common side effect of regular leg waxing.
